United Visual Artists (UVA) is a London-based collective established in 2003 by artist Matt Clark. Known for blending new technologies with traditional media like sculpture and installations, UVA creates immersive experiences that challenge human perception, highlighting the relativity of experience through the manipulation of light, sound, and motion. Their work is considered more as temporal events than static objects. UVA has earned international recognition, receiving commissions from prestigious institutions like the Barbican Curve Gallery, Royal Academy of Arts, and Serpentine Gallery in London, as well as the Biennale of Sydney. Their pieces are held in notable collections such as the Fondation Cartier in France and MONA in Australia, and they have participated in major exhibitions worldwide. The studio is celebrated for its collaborative ethos, working across disciplines with choreographers, filmmakers, musicians, and scientists to enrich their explorations of cognitive and perceptual themes. Their notable collaborators include Massive Attack, James Blake, and the Paris Opéra Ballet. Celebrating two decades of innovation in 2023, UVA hosted 'UVA: Synchronicity', a comprehensive survey of their work, at 180 Studios.
