The Linda Lindas are a dynamic blend of cultural backgrounds and youthful energy, channeling the raw essence of punk, power pop, and new wave through a contemporary lens. Comprised of two sisters, a cousin, and a close friend—Mila (11), Eloise (13), Lucia (14), and Bela (17)—the group first came together under Kristin Kontrol’s guidance at a Girlschool LA event in January 2018, featuring members from Best Coast and Karen O. Initially backing Bela at a Hi-Hat gig during the summer of 2018, the quartet officially became The Linda Lindas at the Save Music in Chinatown benefit. Their stage presence quickly garnered attention, leading them to share platforms with punk icons such as The Dils, Alley Cats, and Phranc, and open for acts like Best Coast and Bikini Kill at prestigious venues including the Hollywood Palladium. The band’s journey through local festivals and political fundraisers showcased their evolving sound and message. Their breakout moment came with a performance at the Los Angeles Public Library, where their song "Racist, Sexist Boy" went viral, catapulting them to sign with Epitaph Records.
