Studio Mumbai is a Mumbai-based architecture practice led by founder Bijoy Jain, working at the intersection of architecture and craft. The studio develops projects through close attention to place and practice, drawing on traditional skills, local building techniques, and natural materials, often advancing designs through iterative making at full scale. Its work has been shown internationally, including at the Venice Architecture Biennale (Work-Place, 2010, and Immediate Landscapes, 2016) and in Melbourne as the 2016 MPavilion, while most recently Jain and the studio were the focus of the Fondation Cartier exhibition “Le souffle de l’architecte” in Paris.
