Ottavio di Blasi

Ottavio Di Blasi & Partners is a Milan-based architecture studio founded in 1990 by Ottavio Di Blasi, following a decade-long collaboration with Renzo Piano. The practice is guided by a cross-disciplinary approach that resists rigid specialization in favor of open, humanistic design thinking. Working across a wide range of typologies—from universities and churches to social centers, masterplans, and temporary architecture—the studio operates globally, with projects spanning Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, and the Americas. At the heart of the studio’s philosophy lies the belief that good architecture emerges from the contamination of knowledge: integrating technical precision with social awareness, beauty with constructional clarity, and creativity with rigorous resource control. A commitment to adaptive reuse and sustainable transformation drives many of their projects, reflecting their long-term vision to improve the world, one design at a time. Ottavio Di Blasi continues to engage in public discourse as a tutor with G124, Renzo Piano’s working group on peripheral urban regeneration. Key built works include the Architecture Campus at Politecnico di Milano, the Mémorial de Gorée in Senegal, and the Spazio LILT cancer center in Biella.
