KALO is the practice of designer and architect Ammar Kalo, based in the UAE, exploring how digital technologies meet traditional craft across spatial design and small-scale objects. The studio’s work is driven by a dialogue between materiality and form with a precise attention to detailing, and spans furniture, objects, research, and interiors. Notable projects include the CNC-milled Stratum chair, the Carabus series that pairs robotically formed copper with camel leather and walnut, and the Macaron Seats made from recycled crumb rubber commissioned by Bee’ah for Dubai Design Days 2017. KALO has also delivered spatial commissions such as the GIBCA Group Majlis and the AUS President’s Office.
