E-Saggila is the moniker of Iraq-born, Toronto-based DJ and producer Rita Mikhael. Her music fearlessly blends techno, noise, gabber, and breakcore, creating a confrontational and thrilling sound. Before focusing on music full-time, Mikhael studied medical aesthetics in Toronto. She co-founded the experimental electronic and industrial-focused cassette label Summer Isle in 2014, releasing over 60 limited-edition cassettes. Her discography includes releases on Opal Tapes, Hospital Productions, and Northern Electronics. E-Saggila has performed at notable venues and festivals worldwide, including Berlin Atonal and MUTEK Montréal.
