Bêka & Lemoine are artist-filmmakers working at the intersection of visual arts, nonfiction cinema, and architecture. Over the past two decades, they have developed a singular cinematic language that explores how individuals emotionally, socially, and culturally engage with space. Their collaborative practice centers on capturing the human presence within architecture, offering intimate, often humorous perspectives on iconic buildings and urban life. Their acclaimed body of work includes over thirty films, such as Koolhaas Houselife (2008), Barbicania (2014), The Infinite Happiness (2015), Moriyama San (2017), Tokyo Ride (2020), and the ongoing city-chronicle Homo Urbanus. Their films have been widely presented at international festivals and institutions including the Venice Biennale, MoMA New York, Fondation Cartier, Fondazione Prada, and the Barbican Centre. In 2016, MoMA acquired the duo’s complete work to date for its permanent collection, a rare recognition for filmmakers within the architectural field. Bêka & Lemoine also teach and lecture globally, with past appointments at Columbia GSAPP, Harvard GSD, the Architectural Association in London, and HEAD Geneva.
