Ars Electronica
Ars Electronica

Since its inception in 1979, Ars Electronica has been at the forefront of the Digital Revolution, exploring the intersection of art, technology, and society. Founded by Hannes Leopoldseder, Hubert Bognermayr, Ulli A. Rützel, and Herbert W. Franke, this Linz-based organization started as a groundbreaking festival and has evolved into a global hub for digital arts and inquiry. Ars Electronica embraces a philosophy of digital humanism, questioning not just what technology can do, but what it should do for humanity. Guided by Artistic Director Gerfried Stocker, its initiatives range from artistic research to collaborations with scientists, designers, and activists, consistently focusing on how technology shapes and is shaped by cultural contexts.
