Arif is a distinguished popular rapper and songwriter hailing from Bogerud in Oslo. Breaking onto the scene in 2013, Arif quickly ascended to prominence within the Norwegian music landscape, establishing himself as one of the most important and celebrated rappers of the decade. Arif's breakout came in 2013 when he clinched the NRK P3's 'Årets Urørt' award with the track "Gal," performing under the moniker Phil T. Rich. That same year marked his album debut with Aldri og Alltid. His follow-up album, HighEnd / Asfalt (2015), received widespread acclaim and earned him the Spellemannprisen for 'Urban' in 2016. His 2017 mixtape Meg & deg mot alle paved the way for his critically lauded 2019 album, Arif i Waanderland. This album, praised for its introspective depth and featuring a diverse range of guest artists from Snow Boyz to Sølvguttene, highlighted the song trilogy "Historien om Nassor," a raw depiction of his challenging relationship with his father. It also included "Hvem er hun," Arif’s biggest solo hit, which climbed to fifth place on the VG-lista. In 2023, Arif was honored with the P3-prisen, cementing his status in the music industry.
