During the period of Art Dubai 2025, WUF presents WUF Magazine Issue 004, curated by Giuseppe Moscatello alongside ten guest curators to bring forward curatorial voices that confront questions of identity, geography, and authorship across West Asia.

Curated by Giuseppe Moscatello—Artistic Director and Cultural Producer with over two decades of experience between the UAE and Italy—Issue 004 opens with a framing essay titled “West Asia: Decolonizing Global Geographies.” Here, Moscatello challenges inherited terminologies, urging a shift from colonial-era nomenclature toward language rooted in cultural self-determination. The term “West Asia” becomes not just a geographic correction, but a cultural and political proposition: a refusal of imposed definitions and a reclamation of narrative agency.

The issue expands from that point into a constellation of perspectives. Ten guest curators were invited to construct autonomous curatorial spaces, each spotlighting projects that resonate with their understanding of the region’s evolving cultural fabric. Guest curators include Pablo del Val, Gonzalo Herrero Delicado, Nada Raza, Huda Smitshuijzen AbiFarès, Suheyla Takesh, Gaith Abdulla, Dirwaza Curatorial Lab, Amal Khalaf, Nat Muller, and Sumantro Ghose.

Each section functions as a unique editorial space, foregrounding cultural narratives often sidelined in dominant discourses. These selections are personal, shaped by lived context and curatorial intention. Together, they form a textured map of influence and inquiry.
Throughout the week, WUF Studio will also be on the ground conducting interviews with influential voices, soon to be revealed. These conversations, centered on curatorial responsibility, cultural strategy, and future-facing narratives, will soon be available on WUFCast.
Designed specifically for press, Issue 004 offers a multi-vocal tool for context and reflection. It is distributed exclusively to accredited media representatives, free of charge.
