Syn Architects is a Riyadh-based architecture and research practice founded by Saudi architects Sara Alissa and Nojoud Alsudairi, working from Diriyah to develop ecologically sensitive, materially grounded projects rooted in local context. The studio frames architecture as a civic and inclusive process, challenging conventional workflows while attending closely to materiality and adaptive, site-responsive solutions. Alongside built work, the founders co-launched the Um Slaim Collective, a non-profit platform that archives, examines, and researches modernist architecture in Riyadh; recent projects include the Shamalat Cultural Center on the edge of Diriyah. In 2025 the practice was selected to represent Saudi Arabia at the Venice Architecture Biennale with “The Um Slaim School: An Architecture of Connection.”
