Suheyla Takesh is the Director of the Barjeel Art Foundation, where she leads initiatives to expand the visibility and critical engagement of modern and contemporary Arab art through curatorial projects, research and public engagement. Since joining the Barjeel Art Foundation in 2013, Suheyla has curated numerous exhibitions and contributed scholarly essays to exhibition catalogues and peer-reviewed journals. Beyond her role at the Foundation, she co-teaches a course on curatorial practice at the American University of Sharjah, mentoring emerging voices in the field. Suheyla holds a master’s degree from the History, Theory, and Criticism of Architecture and Art program at MIT.
