Nine Inch Nails, formed in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1988, is the brainchild of Trent Reznor, who serves as the band's lead vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and primary songwriter. The band's debut album, Pretty Hate Machine (1989), was a commercial success, introducing their signature blend of industrial rock and electronic music. Their 1994 release, The Downward Spiral, further solidified their place in the music industry, featuring hits like "Closer" and "Hurt." Over the years, Nine Inch Nails has released several acclaimed albums, including The Fragile (1999) and With Teeth (2005). In 2016, Atticus Ross officially joined Reznor as a permanent member. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020. In 2025, Nine Inch Nails announced the "Peel It Back" world tour, marking their return to live performances after a three-year hiatus.
