Nicolas Jaar, born January 10, 1990, in New York City, is a visionary electronic music producer, composer, and performer known for his genre-defying soundscapes and experimental approach. Raised between New York and Santiago, Chile, Jaar incorporates diverse influences ranging from ambient and jazz to Latin rhythms and avant-garde electronic music. He first gained attention with his 2011 debut album Space Is Only Noise, which earned widespread critical acclaim for its intricate production and emotional depth. Jaar’s creativity extends beyond solo work. Under the alias Against All Logic (A.A.L.), he explores house and techno with a raw, energetic twist, as heard on the celebrated compilations 2012–2017 and 2017–2019. As a collaborator, Jaar has co-founded the band Darkside with Dave Harrington, blending psychedelic rock and electronic music.
