Designed by Jean Nouvel and inspired by the desert rose crystal, the National Museum of Qatar opened in 2019 as a sweeping architectural landmark that redefines cultural storytelling in the Gulf. Rooted around the historic palace of Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani, the museum blends immersive exhibitions with heritage conservation, capturing the layered narratives of Qatari identity. From 2013 to 2023, it was directed by Sheikha Amna; in 2024, Sheikh Abdulaziz H. Al Thani took over its leadership.
