Mace, born Simone Benussi, is a pivotal figure in the Italian music scene, distinguishing himself as both a DJ and producer. His journey began in his teenage years with Jack the Smoker, leading to the foundation of La Crème. Their debut album "L’alba" in 2003 is hailed as a milestone in Italian rap. Mace’s career trajectory took a decisive turn towards electronic music when he founded the RESET! collective in 2007, which left a significant mark on Milan's blog house and electro scenes. RESET! achieved global reach, touring countries from Australia to Japan and collaborating on official remixes for major artists like Fatboy Slim and Cassius. Their debut album, "Future Madness," was released through Sony Music in 2013. Mace's extensive travels brought him to Johannesburg in 2017, where he connected with local talents such as Sjava, contributing to the Afrobeat track "Umama," which topped South African radio charts. Mace's influence extends through collaborations with prominent figures such as Salmo, Ghali, and Fabri Fibra, among others. His work in the 2020s includes singles like “Ragazzi della nebbia" and “La canzone Nostra,” the latter achieving five platinum certifications rapidly after its release. His album "OBE" became one of 2021’s most streamed albums in Italy, enjoying a long presence in top charts.
