Lulwah AlHomoud

Lulwah Al Homoud (b. Riyadh) is a Saudi artist whose practice reimagines the spiritual and philosophical dimensions of Islamic art through a contemporary lens. Grounded in Arabic calligraphy and geometry, her work explores linguistic systems, mathematical structures, and sacred symbolism. Influenced by both Islamic traditions and modernist pioneers such as Kandinsky, Klee, and Mondrian, Al Homoud deconstructs Arabic script into complex visual codes, constructing intricate geometric forms that evoke divine order and metaphysical reflection. Trained at Central Saint Martins in London, where she received her MA in Art, Al Homoud launched her international career with a visual language that bridges East and West. Her works are held in the permanent collections of LACMA (Los Angeles), The British Museum (London), Five Continents Museum (Munich), Jeju Museum (Korea), the Green Box Museum (Amsterdam), Barjeel Art Foundation (UAE), and the Written Art Foundation (Germany), among others. She lives and works between Riyadh and London.
