Swedish artist Jonna Lee has continually redefined her creative expression across a decade-spanning career, culminating in her latest venture under the moniker ionnalee with the release of EVERYONE AFRAID TO BE FORGOTTEN in Februar 2018. This project is not just an album but a narrative film experience, co-created with cinematographer John Strandh and in collaboration with fashion innovators COMME des GARÇONS, marking her most ambitious work yet. Previously, Lee’s journey took a transformative turn in 2009 when she and her best friend, producer Barbelle a.k.a Claes Björklund, launched the viral sensation iamamiwhoami. Known for its enigmatic, visually stunning music releases that captivated audiences worldwide, iamamiwhoami broke new ground in electronic pop and visual storytelling. This project not only puzzled and intrigued with its cryptic release strategy but also significantly pushed the boundaries of digital art, accumulating over 42 million views on YouTube and earning the Innovator Of the Year Award at the Swedish Grammis before its physical debut. EVERYONE AFRAID TO BE FORGOTTEN explores the existential fears of obscurity and the artist’s urge to leave a lasting mark in a saturated landscape. Each track is meticulously crafted, inviting listeners to find their personal resonance within Lee’s introspective narrative.
