IDLES
IDLES

IDLES, formed in Bristol in 2009, is a British rock band known for its raw energy and provocative themes. Comprising Joe Talbot (vocals), Adam Devonshire (bass), Mark Bowen (guitar), Lee Kiernan (guitar), and Jon Beavis (drums), the band emerged from a shared passion for music between Talbot and Devonshire during their university years. Their 2017 debut, Brutalism, garnered critical acclaim, setting the stage for their breakthrough with Joy as an Act of Resistance (2018), a Mercury Prize-nominated album exploring vulnerability and masculinity. In 2020, their chart-topping album Ultra Mono cemented their status with its fierce socio-political commentary. They followed with Crawler (2021), delving into introspection and diverse sounds. Their 2024 release, Tangk, co-produced by Nigel Godrich and Kenny Beats, celebrates love and resilience.
