Héctor Zamora

Héctor Zamora is a Mexican artist whose site-responsive works challenge architecture, labor, and systems of control through sculptural and performative interventions. Working at the threshold between construction and deconstruction, his practice reclaims structural materials—scaffolding, bricks, mesh—to question who builds space and who is excluded from it. Based in São Paulo, Zamora is known for large-scale works that merge formal rigor with political resonance. In 2020, he created Lattice Detour for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s rooftop, a porous brick wall that reimagined the border as a space of transparency and movement. His recent installations include contributions to the Bruges Triennial and public spaces across Latin America and Europe.
