Farah Al Qasimi

Farah Al Qasimi (b. 1991, Abu Dhabi) is a visual artist working primarily with photography, video, and performance. Her vivid, detail-rich images navigate the complexities of identity, beauty, and cultural hybridity across public and private spaces. Often oscillating between the staged and the spontaneous, Al Qasimi captures moments that reveal the surreal within the mundane, frequently exploring the aesthetics of consumer culture, gender performance, and Gulf urban life. Living and working between New York and Abu Dhabi, Al Qasimi’s practice reflects a diasporic lens and a sharp sensitivity to image-making in both Western and Arab contexts. Her work has been exhibited at institutions including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the ICA Boston, and the Art Gallery of Ontario, and is part of several prominent public collections.
