

Jaylah Ji'mya Hickmon, professionally known as Doechii, is an American rapper and singer born on August 14, 1998, in Tampa, Florida. She gained prominence with her 2020 EP Oh the Places You'll Go, featuring the viral hit "Yucky Blucky Fruitcake." In 2021, she signed with Top Dawg Entertainment, becoming the label's first female rapper. Her 2022 EP, She/Her/Black Bitch, showcased her versatility across hip-hop, R&B, and pop genres. The 2023 single "What It Is (Block Boy)" featuring Kodak Black marked her debut on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2024, Doechii released the mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal, earning critical acclaim and three Grammy nominations, including Best Rap Album.
