d4vd (David Anthony Burke), born March 28, 2005, in Queens, New York, is a breakout American singer-songwriter redefining genre boundaries. Raised in Houston, Texas, his musical journey began unexpectedly—creating songs on the BandLab app for Fortnite montages to avoid copyright strikes. Recording in his sister's closet, d4vd's DIY ethos led to the viral success of his 2022 single "Romantic Homicide," which peaked at #33 on the Billboard Hot 100 and secured him a deal with Darkroom/Interscope Records. Blending alternative, indie, R&B, and rock, d4vd’s debut EP Petals to Thorns (2023) solidified his place as a genre-defying artist. That same year, his sophomore EP, The Lost Petals, expanded his sonic world, drawing from influences like The Neighbourhood and Arctic Monkeys. Anime and shonen classics like Naruto and Dragon Ball Z also fuel his creativity.
