Born in 1976 in Cholet, France, ceramist and sculptor Benoît Pouplard now resides and works along the Loire River in Anjou. Over the years, he has garnered attention through numerous exhibitions in France and internationally, showcasing his unique approach to contemporary ceramics that echoes the human form and delves into the symbiosis between humans and earth. Educated in environmental sciences and organic chemistry, Pouplard furthered his education in architecture at Manchester, England. His career transitioned from being an assistant mosaicist to an independent mosaic artist, specializing in ART DECO restoration and architectural décor in Saumur, France. Pouplard's dedication to ceramics deepened during his training at EMA CNIFOP in Saint Amand en Puisaye, leading to the establishment of his own ceramic studio in Gennes Val de Loire in 2010. His achievements include a 2018 Creation Award from the Région Pays de la Loire and a finalist position at the 2019 Blanc de Chine ICAA at the Quanzhou Porcelain Center in China, underscoring his international acclaim and influence in the field of ceramic arts.
