Bashaer Hawsawi

Bashaer Hawsawi is a Saudi visual artist whose multidisciplinary practice explores themes of memory, identity, and spatial belonging. Working across installation, photography, and archival research, her work often reflects on the shifting landscapes of personal and collective memory within the Gulf region. Grounded in both social observation and aesthetic inquiry, Hawsawi’s projects investigate how histories—particularly those marginalized or forgotten—can be reassembled through architectural spaces, domestic materials, and cultural storytelling. She has exhibited in major cultural events across the region, including the 21.39 Jeddah Arts, Misk Art Institute, and the 54th Venice Biennale. She is based in Saudi Arabia.
