Atlas Bookstore

Atlas Bookstore is a Doha-based bookstore and “transient” collection specialized in books and magazines that document the built and natural environments of the Arab world. Its holdings span Arabic, English, and other languages and are gathered from distributors, private collectors, archives, street markets, bookshops, and donations. Founded in 2015 by Fatma and Reem Al Sehlawi, Atlas began in a space at the Doha Sheraton Hotel as a reference library and retail outlet focused on the architecture and urbanism of West Asia and North Africa, and it has served as a research engine for projects such as the Making Doha exhibition at the National Museum of Qatar. Operating as a civic-minded platform, Atlas stages satellite outposts and reading rooms to widen access to publications on Middle Eastern and North African architecture, including a presentation at Dubai Design Days in 2017.
