Andrés Jaque is an architect, curator, and the founder of Office for Political Innovation, a practice that merges architecture with critical environmental and social research. Based between New York and Madrid, Jaque is internationally recognized for his experimental and cross-disciplinary approach, addressing how architecture intersects with politics, urban ecologies, and contemporary life. His work challenges conventional architectural narratives by engaging with issues such as climate change, queer space, and techno-political infrastructures. Through installations, exhibitions, and public buildings, Jaque explores design as a tool for reconfiguring power structures and shaping inclusive environments. Notable projects include COSMO at MoMA PS1’s Young Architects Program, and curatorial roles such as the 13th Shanghai Biennale. Jaque currently serves as the Dean of Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP), where his academic work continues to shape discourse around architecture and planetary ethics.
